Transportation Infrastructure
High-speed transportation network improvements are underway to make Iwate
northern Tohoku's hub
The more globalized the economy becomes, the more efficient distribution
companies need. Iwate has a stable transportation infrastructure in many
ways; land, sea and air, which supports prompt corporate activity.
As the center of northern Tohoku, Iwate is steadily improving distribution
routes and offering remarkable corporate locations.
Rapid access with the Tohoku Shinkansen |
With the Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) , it takes only about two hours
from Moiorka to Tokyo. In the near future, travel from Tokyo to Iwate is
expected to become even faster. |
A hub for people, goods and information:
Iwate Hanamaki Airport |
In order to adapt to the age of full-scale of internationalization, and
improve distribution and convenience for travellers, the runway has been
extended and a new terminal has opened in April 2009. |
Increasing port access to improve distribution |
Effort to enhance more effective distribution network is being undertaken,
by constructing the Tohoku Expressway Kamaishi-Akita line and Miyako-Morioka
Cross Road, the transportation access connecting the coast and the inland
region where more industrial accumulation and expansion have been achieved.
